Pros of Buying TR-808 Track Cartridge Tape Recorder Player (Realistic):1. Authentic Sound: The TR-808 is a legendary drum machine that has been used in numerous hit songs. The Realistic TR-882 is a replica, offering a near-identical sound to the original.
2. Affordability: Compared to the original TR-808, the Realistic TR-882 is significantly cheaper, making it an accessible option for drum machine enthusiasts and musicians on a budget.
3. Durability: The Realistic TR-882 is built to last. Its robust construction can withstand regular use, making it a reliable choice for live performances and studio sessions.
4. Easy to Use: The TR-882 is straightforward to operate, with simple controls that allow you to quickly switch between different drum sounds and adjust their volumes.
5. Portability: At around 10 lbs, the Realistic TR-882 is lightweight and easy to transport, making it a great option for musicians who travel frequently.
Cons of Buying TR-808 Track Cartridge Tape Recorder Player (Realistic):1. Limited Features: While the Realistic TR-882 offers a wide range of drum sounds, it lacks some of the advanced features found in modern drum machines, such as MIDI connectivity and digital effects.
2. Tape-Based: The TR-882 uses tape cartridges for storage, which can be less reliable than digital storage methods. Tapes can degrade over time, and replacing them can be expensive.
3. Limited Customization: The TR-882's sounds are fixed, meaning you can't adjust the pitch or tone of the drums like you can with some modern drum machines.
4. No Backup: Since the TR-882 uses tape cartridges, there's no built-in backup system. You'll need to make copies of your recordings to ensure they're not lost.
Conclusion:The Realistic TR-882 is a great choice for musicians who want the authentic sound of the TR-808 without breaking the bank. Its durability, ease of use, and portability make it a reliable option for live performances and studio sessions. However, its limited features, reliance on tape cartridges, and lack of customization options are worth considering. Ultimately, if you value the sound and nostalgia of the TR-808 and are willing to deal with its drawbacks, the Realistic TR-882 could be a worthwhile investment.
Recommendation:If you're looking for a drum machine that offers the classic TR-808 sound at an affordable price, the Realistic TR-882 could be a good fit for you. However, if you prioritize advanced features, customization, and digital storage, you might want to consider a modern digital drum machine.
Its not a 10 but at least strong 8. If I knew had to put a tape in here power it up would have done there. I have no way to test this. Location: storage 8 second shelf in bubble wrap.
I purchased this along with the JVC have listed and both are in great condition were from an old couple that was selling their music collection players records. I just don't see them selling those items and in this condition if they didn work. But I can't say for sure so. This is in nice condition.
You can see in the pictures condition hopefully.
