Details:

The 1/4 shaft material is available at hardware or big-box home improvement stores. The type of counter requires a knob not included which engages pin turns gears. And I can point you to some sources if like.

The knobs with right feature are not hard to find. This is a groth-style turns counters which goes from I am not endorsing any source here, just pointing out that these turns-counters are still very usable item. I have included a picture of the back one my knobs which has this feature, quasi-triangular shape cut into knob. I have a couple of small ones which work.

It is made of a black Bakelite-type material and brass. Dimensions are: width : 2 inches height : 4 thickness: 3 8ths of an inch not counting the shaft bearing and pin. It accommodates a regular 1/4 shaft not included.
