Such alteration of the face plate chassis or cord will play a significant role in how much you can sell unit for future. Those must be matched and balanced because they play a huge role in even sound distribution. All these issues have been addressed by this volume control.

By now the majority of 60-year-old volume controls have deteriorated carbon resistance paths. Will keep few for myself and help others with this hard to find pot. It is a pity to see how many units are wasted mutilated drilled holes in the face plate or chassis for toggle switch installation, cord cutting in-line switches etc, just because of broken on off.
